Raiffeisen Bank Polska celebrates its 15th anniversary.

Raiffeisen Bank Polska S.A, Warsaw, a subsidiary of RaiffeisenInternational Bank-Holding AG, Vienna (in turn part of the group headedby Raiffeisen Zentralbank Oesterreich AG, RZB) celebrated its 15thanniversary yesterday evening. With a balance-sheet total of€ 3.1 billion as of 30 June 2006, it is the seventh-largest bank of the Raiffeisen International Group and the twelfth largest bank in Poland. At 102 per cent, its growth in terms of total assets was more than three times the rate of the local banking landscape''s average between 2002 and the first half of 2006.

The bank is well respected as an excellent provider of financialservices above all to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Notleast due to the product scope offered in the leasing and factoringsegments, it was elected Best Bank by the industry publication GazetaBankowa in 2005 and 2006. It shows a market share of 18 per cent in theSME-segment and is the segment''s No. 3 regarding EU-supported investmentloans. Furthermore, it is a substantial market participant in foreigntrade with market shares of 10 and 8 per cent, respectively, in importand export payment transactions.

Raiffeisen Bank Polska''s Managing Board and its Supervisory BoardPresident Herbert Stepic, CEO of Raiffeisen International, invited to agala ceremony in the Warsaw National Philharmonic Hall. Poland''s DeputyFinance Minister Piotr Soroczynski was among the many national andinternational guests and decorated Mr. Stepic with the Commander''s Crossof the Order of Merit by the Republic of Poland.

The bank was founded in 1991 as a joint venture of RZB and CentroInternationale Handelsbank AG (Centrobank, since the full acquisition byRZB in October 2001 Raiffeisen Centrobank), Vienna, under the nameRaiffeisen-Centrobank S.A. The Polish Central Bank assigned the number 2to the new bank''s licence, thereby officially confirming the fact thatRaiffeisen was among the pioneer banks after the country''s political andeconomic turnaround. In March 2000, RZB changed the bank''s name toRaiffeisen Bank Polska after having bought Centrobank''s shares. The bankservices its customers via a local network of 86 business outlets andhad nearly 2,000 employees at the end of June 2006. RaiffeisenInternational is also represented in Poland via a leasing, factoring andinvestment company.

Raiffeisen International operates one of the leading banking networks inCEE with subsidiary banks and leasing companies in 16 markets. More than11 million customers are attended to through more than 2,700 businessoutlets. Representative offices in Lithuania and Moldova complement theGroup''s presence in the region. Raiffeisen International is a fullyconsolidated subsidiary of Raiffeisen Zentralbank Oesterreich AG (RZB),which owns 70 per cent of the common stock. The remaining 30 per cent isfree float, the shares are traded on the Vienna Stock Exchange.
