Urals branch of ZAO Raiffeisenbank acts as a partner to the International Youth Football Tournament «Europe-Asia» dedicated to the 2008 European Football Championship

The International Youth Football Tournament «Europe-Asia» was held in the Sverdlovsk region for the first time, with six youth teams (year of birth 1994-1995) from Austria, Germany and Russia taking part.

The Russian tricolor was defended by children from the Ural and VIZ-Sinara clubs, playing against teams from the leading youth clubs of the other participating countries.

Participants included the sports union Greuter Fuerf (Bavaria), whose youth sports center is one of Germany's most successful organizations training young football players, and the Grazer AK club (founded in 1995), one of the strongest in Austria.

The matches were officiated by referees from the Russian Football Union (RFU), with the winner determined by the total number of points won in all matches.

The opening ceremony was attended by: A.Yu. Levin, the head of the administration of the governor of Sverdlovsk Region; V. A. Vagenleitner, the minister for physical culture, sports and tourism of Sverdlovsk Region; Tilo Klinner, general consul of the Federal Republic of Germany in Yekaterinburg; and V. A. Beloglazov, UGMK Holding's director for general issues and vice-president of the Children of Russia charity fund.

Vitaly Milovanov, director of the Urals branch, offered these remarks to the audience at the start of the international football tournament: «For Raiffeisenbank it is very important to render assistance to events of this kind, as the task of each socially active entity is to participate in the formation of a strong sporting nation. Sport fosters endurance and health, as well as fair and open competition, which teaches young people to behave in life as they do in the game: fight to the finish, be persistent in achieving your goals, focus on victory.»
