The number of people using Raiffeisen Connect has risen to over 200,000.

The number of people using Raiffeisen Connect has risen to over 200,000. The internet-banking system was launched in 2003. In August 2007 Raiffeisenbank developed a new arrangement for clients to connect to the Raiffeisen Connect internet-banking system that allows them to receive both a password and a PIN2 without first having to submit an application and wait for it to be processed. Since then 40,000 customers have connected to the system, and in February 2008 their total number had risen to over 200,000.

According to Board member Roman Vorobyev, 200,000 customers is an impressive result. «The popularity of remote servicing channels is growing every day. This demonstrates that our clients appreciate the simplicity and convenience of these services. We will continue to work on introducing new Raiffeisen Connect capabilities and enhancing the security and convenience of the services we provide.»

Raiffeisenbank is continuously developing and improving its remote-servicing capabilities. Last summer a special PDA version of its internet bank was introduced for users of hand-held PCs, and in the autumn a new service appeared — Raiffeisen MOBILE — that enables customers to receive SMS messages from the bank containing requested information on account balances, card transactions, exchange rates etc.

Future plans for the Raiffeisen Connect system include launching new services for the online payment of mobile-phone and utility bills, for opening and running all types of deposit account, and for setting up standing orders.
